booj Launches New and Improved Interactive Map Search
Location plays an important role in the homebuying process. Therefore, we’re proud to unveil our new map search. Our interactive mapping technology integrates the most advanced search capabilities and data, making it the center of a user’s search experience and giving context to the data.
The new, fully responsive design was carefully constructed to make sure it looks and performed optimally — whether a user is interacting with the map on their desktop, tablet or smartphone.
Search Features Include:
Advanced Search Integration
Wanting to ensure we continue to provide a rich experience for our customers, while still giving them the ability to search granularly, all fields from our new advanced search are integrated into the map. For example, users who want to narrow their search by more specific criteria — such as water access — can do so if that field is available within the MLS.
Proximity Search is integrated into our map search and gives users the ability to choose from a landmark or pre-defined point of interest. They can then refine their results based on a desired radius and common property filters.
Users can also narrow their search results by drive time to points of interest such as their office, their child’s school, and more.
Search by Community and School
When users search by specific area entities, such as communities, schools and zip codes, a polygon is presented with search results of the geographic boundaries for that entity.
When a user clicks on a property of interest, they’re able to view contextual data for the area such as demographics, population, school ratings and more.
Other Map Tools
Find Nearby Points of Interests
By clicking on the POI icon, users can choose from a list of pre-defined points of interests — such as train stations, parks or restaurants — in order to view nearby amenities.
View Current Traffic for an Area
By clicking on the streetlight icon on the map, users can see real-time traffic conditions for the area.
Create Custom Searches
Users can define their own custom search using the Polygon tool.
Enhanced Search Results
For areas with a high volume of properties for sale, listings are displayed in easy-to-navigate clusters. When a user clicks on a cluster, the map automatically zooms into that area and displays individual listings that fall within that clustering.
Properties that match a user’s search criteria will also appear within a responsive modal window on the righthand side of the page. If a user clicks on a property of interest within the window, they can scroll through (or slide through on touch devices) property photos and view property details, including its address, price, number of beds/baths, square footage, property remarks, interior and exterior features, and more.
They can also add properties to their compare bin, favorite properties, see recently viewed properties, schedule a showing, or request more information — all from within the map.
Save Searches and Receive Alerts
With an account, users have the ability to save all searches, including complex polygon searches and drive time searches to view later. They can also setup real-time alerts so they’re notified via email (or push notification if they have the mobile app) when new listings hit the market that meet their criteria.
These are just a few of the features you'll find on our new and improved map search that is revolutionizing the way customers find homes across the country.
