a company of original thinkers, social media lovers, search engine optimizers, web designers and developers with a passion for new technology and innovation.
booj (formerly Active Website) is a Colorado-based company specializing in web design and complex development. Founded in 2005, the company has rapidly become an industry leader that powers the technology behind large business platforms.
Ranked in the Inc. Top 5000 for rapid growth three years in a row, we are proud of the success we've experienced. We especially recognize the fact that the larger we become, the more impact we can have on increasing standards in our industry.
With a strong focus on the customer-centric business model, we treat our customers and employees like family, and pride ourselves on providing the highest level of service. It is our mission to empower our clients and employees with the technology and know-how needed to take over the world (insert evil laugh here).
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”Abraham Lincoln

The Data team works hard behind the scenes finding new ways to make data integration simpler, faster and more accessible. There's a lot of information out there on the internets - and our team is ready to collect. The raw data from MLS boards and other sources notorious for their diverse nature are then arranged to better meet the needs of the end user.
Sounds complicated, right? Yeah, we don't really know what they do either.
The Deployment Department works to implement and maintain the front end of our websites. This includes slicing designs, styling pages with CSS and using Javascript to add functionality. Needless to say, this team is a well-oiled style machine. Dedicated to pixel-perfect implementation of our designs, they measure margins, memorize hexadecimals and otherwise hunt imperfections cross browsers to make sure our sites are completed to perfection.
While they may have strong opinions on the use of mustard vs. golden rod yellow (seriously, they've done usability studies on this), our design team works hard to blend client branding guidelines with the latest design trends.
Responsible for creating web, graphic and print designs, the team makes sure that everything that leaves their desk is pixel perfect, usable, innovative, and most importantly, make our clients say "wow".
Having a strong, scalable code base is one of the most important factors for any website, and booj acknowledges this with one of the most proficient teams ever assembled. The Development Department creates platform solutions for our customers and derives a strange sort of pleasure from accomplishing the impossible.
Not only that, but the team has put a substantial effort into creating a "green" work environment as their entire office runs on Mountain Dew and static electricity.
Working day and night, the LifeCycle and ROI team is crucial to the evolution of our platforms and maximizing our client's Return on Investment. They work with clients to develop lead management strategies for online initiatives and manage LifeCycle, our two CRM solutions.
The team has also made a name for themselves for having the cutest office and largest beer bottle collection. Most importantly though, they make the largest contribution to our office dog population. Much appreciated.
Communicating with current and potential customers is an important aspect of any business, and our marketing team works hard to ensure that all customers are well-informed. The Marketing Department is responsible for brand communication offline and online, content creation and management, event planning and increasing exposure for booj and our platforms.
When passing by the marketing office, you'll likely see them browsing Facebook or Twitter (for work of course!) or brainstorming their next brilliant ad campaign.
Born with cell-phones in hand, Android and iOS technologies seem second nature for this group of 20-something-year-old developers. Intrinsically motivated to keep clients at the forefront of their industry, this team is responsible for releasing new mobile sites and apps for our clients and helping maintain a consistent brand image across all devices.
Need a new app for your Blackberry? Sorry, they won't help you.
Picture this: you have access to a wealth of really awesome tools and functionality, but don't have a clue how to translate that into something equally exciting for your customers. Enter our New Media Department.
Through visual interpretation, the department communicates the value of our technology and supports the training initiatives of our networks with video. Through their vast knowledge of random movie facts, quotes and love for Atari (it WAS media at one point, right?), the team approaches all videos with a well-rounded perspective and passion for what they do.
Yes, they're sweet, but don't be fooled – they know how to get $h*t done.
As the closest point of contact with our customers, the Project Management Department is responsible for evaluating, scheduling and coordinating current and upcoming client projects. To ensure exceptional support and a high level of customer-service, our PMs work closely with other departments to keep the lines of communication open in order to exceed customer expectations every time.
Voted the department most likely to survive the apocalypse, this team has more muscle than the entire company combined – which helps with their ability to enforce quality control. dun dun dun.
An extension of the Deployment Department, our QA team monitors our sites in order to find any issues or bugs before new tools and functionality are pushed live. Besides finding all our mistakes, they're awesome at improving processes and communication among departments.
Often referred to as the scientists of the development world, the R&D team's experiments have the potential to go haywire. But don't worry, the building has only caught on fire once.
On a more serious note, our industry is changing quickly. It's important to evolve our current technologies and develop new functionality so our products and offerings do not become obsolete. The R&D Department is responsible for staying on top of the latest trends and developing products that will help our clients remain leaders in their markets.
The sales team is responsible for building relationships with potential clients and connecting us with the people that could benefit most from our services. Researching new opportunities on a daily basis, the team strives to achieve maximum profitability and growth in line with our company vision.
Aside from being our in-house sales experts, the team is also skilled in fixing things around the office, hooking up phone lines, and knowing someone who knows someone who can help with importing gourmet German sausages.
In an industry that is always changing, our SEO team is dedicated to continuous education in the field. Attending SEO conferences each year allows us to stay on top of new advancements in the algorithm, as well as ensure our clients receive the best possible strategic advice for their market. But honestly, they're just a great excuse to get out of town and party network.
Usability comes first and foremost in our development process. We keep the end user in mind when designing our sites and offer consultation to clients based on results from our usability studies.
Using Tobii Technology's eye tracking system, we analyze the effectiveness of website content and layout by tracking the user's eye focus. Tobii is kind of a know-it-all, but with good reason. Because of him, our clients know the best placement for components on their sites based on scientific data and results.
There's a lot of trash talk going on in this department. No, they're not talking about the girl who stole your boyfriend; they're brainstorming ways to make the online waste disposal process more efficient.
This team of developers, project managers, customer service reps and marketing professionals develop and maintain websites for various Waste Management segments. But it doesn't stop there. The team also assists with WM marketing initiatives, event planning, content writing and more. In short, our WM team is a well-rounded machine.
The Enterprise Network is a union of leading real estate companies across the country that share information, strategy and a unified technology platform.
Because of market exclusivity amongst members, they gain the tools and buying power of larger corporations without sacrificing their independence and personal voice. The result is an open, collaborative team of industry insiders that come together in a non-competitive atmosphere to drive innovation.
